The John Hegeman Cornell gravesite: a first dead-end

So I join “Find-a-Grave” to further explore.  The page and post states that John Hegeman Cornell was born in 1856 and died in 1901.  He was buried in the Cornell Cemetery in Little Neck.  As I look up that Cemetery, someone states that they took the inventory of residents of the cemetery in 1922 and further recorded it in the Queens Cemetery Census of 1922.  The Cemetery itself was removed and the residents moved to a cemetery in Douglastan…but when I checked the Queens Census, it revealed only five names, and none was John Hegeman Cornell.  Did this person really see that grave?  Did vandals remove or destroy the headstones?  Who knows?  What records of transfers were there?  And who was it who actually stated they made the sighting and what did they see?  aaaarrrrggghhhh…
